Neymar Finally Set for Medicals at PSG as Sanchez Mounts Pressure on Arsenal
It appears that Brazilian superstar, Neymar has played his last el Classico for Spanish giant, Barcelona just as Sanchez mounts pressure on Arsenal to let him go.
Barcelona forward Neymar will have his medical in Doha on Tuesday prior to completing a world record €222 million move to Paris Saint-Germain, Al Watan reports.
The attacker has long been associated with the Ligue 1 club, who could complete the deal before their opening match of the season against Amiens on Saturday.
Barcelona could turn their attention to signing Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil if they are unable to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool, Don Balon claims.
With Neymar’s future up in the air regarding a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain, the Catalan side are having to look at alternatives to the former Brazil captain.
Coutinho is said to be atop their wishlist if his countryman does leave for PSG, but Barca believe they could prise Ozil away from the Emirates for a fee of around €60 million and have a dig at Real Madrid – the German’s former club – in the process.
Cristiano Ronaldo does not want to see Kylian Mbappe join Real Madrid because he is wary of losing his star status at the club, according to Diario Gol .
The Champions League winners have been linked closely with Monaco’s wonderkid, with rumours of a summer signing continuing to circulate.
But Ronaldo is reportedly worried sharing the spotlight with Mbappe will harm his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or again, and would not look kindly on the blockbuster signing.
Barcelona are growing increasingly optimistic of completing a deal to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool, claims Sport. Liverpool have insisted that Coutinho is not for sale , but reports have claimed the Brazilian has already agreed a five-year contract to move to Camp Nou after telling the Reds he wants to leave.
The latest speculation claims Liverpool are now ready to listen to Barcelona, who are aiming to pay a maximum of €85 million for Coutinho.
Manchester United will offer Real Madrid £90 million for Gareth Bale, but will wait until next summer to do so, says an exclusive report from the Express.
The former Tottenham star has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford, though Zinedine Zidane’s desire to keep hold of the attacker has ended any potential deal. Jose Mourinho retains an interest in Bale, though, and will launch a fresh approach for his services in 2018.
Paris Saint-Germain are ready to up their bid for Alexis Sanchez to £35 million, according to The Express . The Chile international had been set to leave the Gunners for Manchester City, though the Parisian side now look to have stolen a march in the race for the forward’s signature.
PSG will attempt to thrash through a deal for Alexis, though Barcelona’s Neymar is the priority and manager Unai Emery will only move for the Arsenal star once they conclude a deal for the Brazilian.
Arsenal fear that Alexis Sanchez could go on strike in an effort to force through a move away from the club, reports The Sun .
The Chile international has entered the final year of his contract at Emirates Stadium and continues to be heavily linked with the likes of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
